7/12 world fest

7-12-07 midnight
today i bought a pair of gold patterned silk wrap around pants, i don't think i will be shopping at Gap or Old Navy anymore,
festival clothes are much more exciting.
this is definitely new, i don't like shopping and basically i've bought a whole new wardrobe in the last week.

Hello WorldFest 07 in Grass Valley, CA ... we weren't sure we wanted to go, we just spent 4 days at another music festival only 5 days ago, but we met this woman
at our visit to Sierra Hot Springs and she said don't even think about just go.
so we did, actually we were chilling out at the hot springs and i picked up a local holistic happenings paper and there was an events page at the back.
i saw that on Wed nights there was a woman named Pranja in Grass Valley that gave satsang, i remembered that she was astudent of Adyashanti (who i love) and it started in about 2 hours.
we were about 1 hour and 45 minutes away, i asked steve if he thought we could pack up camp in 10 minutes or so.
We arrived at exactly 7 and really enjoyed the meditation and talk, it was an intimate group of 15 or so, nice after the 300 we sat with at the last event we attended with Adyashanti.

So since we were now in Grass Valley, we headed straight for the fairgrounds and early the next morning we were the among the first to get in when they opened the gate at 8am.
And did i mention the great clothes.. we'll i have been inspired... since we will be attending Burning Man in late August... to get some colorful clothes and maybe even costumes??
I met a homeschool family at our last homeschool camping trip and they were burners (attendees of Burning Man) and the dad was a photographer who had a slew of photos of last years
Burning Man, I checked out www.scottlondon.com and saw some of the outfits these folks wear at this wild and very expressive event, and
i suddenly wanted to be in the spirit and and really want to be more colorful.

i remember attending the Renaissance Faire in 2006 with my friend Linda and her daughter Alana. Linda's biggest thrill of the day was buying this pair of shoes that had pointed and
turned up toes, like elf shoes and get this they were purple, bright purple. she danced around in these new shoes as if they were filled with pixie dust so absolutely delighted,
"aren't they just beautiful, oh i love them so much! I smiled, happy for her thinking to myself well maybe they'd be ok if they were black and the toe wasn't turned up.

I thought of that today as i bought not just the gold silk pattern pants (did i mention that i don't wear patterns either, i really (used to) like basic plain classic clothes,
no patterns, and really 4 colors, green, black, brown and blue jeans. But i bought green silk patterned pants, and a lot of tie dye sarongs to be worn as
skirts (i don't ever wear skirts), in fact between today's shopping and the stuff i bought at the last festival (High Sierra Music Festival) and the Lightening in a Bottle
Festival i went to in May, i have bought 13 skirts and i have not actually worn pants in the last 11 days. except for the wrap around pants i wore tonight, but they really feel
more like a skirt. Remember wrap around pants? was that the late 70's? i remember i had a pair and i loved them, they were so cool and sexy, all that thigh action peaking out.
Well now i have 2 pairs and they are silk, wow! And they are all colorful, green, orange, pink.. and i bought 2 pair of shoes made in Thailand (where we will be going this spring)
and they are both like 6 different colors, oh Linda you would love them!

I think it is just a hoot to have this oh so different type of expression come out, all of my tastes and preferences seeming to just turn on a dime, completely shift. I called my best girlfriend
Alexis (who a few years ago started wearing lots of skirts and colors and looking very girly) tonight and told her what i was wearing and that i would be sending a photo soon to show off
all my cool new beautiful treasures, can you believe it skirts??
