8/11/07 Blue Lake

8/11/07
Heading South, we stopped for 2 days at Blue Lake,
lots of boys to play Lego's with, horseshoes, and
of course swimming in the lake. It's so easy to make
friends at the campgrounds, we just pull out the
big box of Legos and the lightsabers and the game
is on. Everyone was happy today, the boys played in
the lake all day, mommy read Harry Potter, and
Daddy installed a beautiful new floor in the RV.

Someone asked me at the homeschool park day, so
how are you doing this traveling thing?? do you have
savings? No we don't, we rented our house, trying
to sell it but no offers yet. Daddy will be consulting PT
from the road.
I bought the RV for $4800 (that was the exact amount
of the security deposit I got for renting the house)
and we've been fixing it up a bit at a time for the
last 6 months. I took lots of
3-4 day trips and as symptoms showed up, I had
them fixed. First new tires and brakes, then repairs
on fuel and exhaust leaks, toilet fixed, fuel filter
replaced, 20 yr old carpet out and awesome new
floor in, and now solar panels up to provide power
in lieu of the generator. I took out the old brown
curtains and hung up bright orange beautiful
material in its place.
The old gal is looking really good!!
